What a fantastic two-day golf Championship we had at Ardea CC. Members played the South Course the first day and the North Course the second day. The South course was in great shape for day one setting the stage for competitive play and allowing for some impressive scores. The North course was also in great shape but a much challenging course and a real test of patience and skills. However, the winners rose to the occasion with remarkable scores.
At the end of the rounds a delicious and very much appreciated lunch provided a welcome opportunity to relax and enjoy conversation and the company of our golf friends.
Congratulations to Janet Knob-Pardon for winning The Betty Kerby putting contest. Janet had the lowest number of puts over the two days event with a remarkable 57 putts. Well played.
Another highlight of the day was an Eagle by Soozie Kaiser on the North course in Hole 14 par four 271 yards. Soozie’s long drive left her with a second shot of 80 yards. She used her trusted 52 degree wedge and we all know what happened.
We were thrilled and honored to have three past WCWGA Presidents participating at the Championship. (Becky Miles, Pat Rogers and Leslie Roberts). We appreciate your continuous support.
A special thank you to WC Representative Susan Camasisca and the championship committee Jackie Brown and Karen Leash for hosting us and making it an outstanding, well organized and memorable Championship event for all participants. We also would like to extend our appreciation and thank you to the Ardea CC Director of golf Tom McKone for hosting us and making sure we had a successful event.
