St Petersburg Country Club blends rich history and tradition as it was established in 1924 and originally designed by English golf professional Herbert Strong.
It is interesting to note that St Petersburg CC was originally known as Lakewood Country Club until it was renamed in 2000.
We had a great turnout today with 32 players -including five guests- joining us with enthusiasm and determination for a fun day of golf among friends.
The course was in excellent condition, and we all enjoyed the absolutely beautiful –and very challenging–greens, with incredible ondulations and breaks from every angle. Once again members and guests used the Genius app to post scores from hole to hole with great success and we are very excited about this new tool when it is available to us. It was certainly a day to remember.
A big thank you to Toni Herting and Cathy Moss for hosting and organizing this event. Their hard work and effort created a truly enjoyable experience for all members and guests. Lunch was fantastic and truly appreciated by everyone thanks to the hard work of food and beverage manager Doug Gaquer.
Lastly, we always like to acknowledge and thank everyone who worked behind the scenes to make sure we have a successful event, especially director of golf Anthony Swinford (who donated golf balls for closest to the pin prizes, thank you), golf superintendent Eric Amend and Club House Manager Nick Strombo. Thank you!
