West Coast Women’s Golf Association Annual Meeting
April 9, 2018 Southern Hills
The 2018 annual meeting of the West Coast Women’s Golf Association was held on April 9, 2018 at the Southern Hills Plantation Golf Club in Brooksville, Florida.
The meeting was called to order at 6:10 PM by President, Vivian Herklotz. Ms. Herklotz introduced the Officers:
1st Vice President: Judy Marks, Lake Jovita, Membership Directory
2nd Vice President: Kooky Lucas, Black Diamond, Schedule
Treasurer: Pat Rogers, Tampa Palms, Dues and Prizes Secretary: Margie Irvin, Palma Ceia, Minutes and Trophies Directors: Carrie Bell, Innisbrook; Sisi Hedges, Eaglebrook Ex-Officio: Becky Miles
Sunshine Lady: Kathy Conroy, East Lake Woodlands
Secretary’s Report-A motion was made by Loretta Rousch and second by Nina Rose Hatfield to dispense with the reading of last year’s minutes.It was unanimously approved.
Treasurer’s Report- The report given by Pat Rogers was accepted as read.Approximately eight thousand dollars is collected in dues revenue. Ms. Herklotz added that out of a membership of 177 that 145 members participated in events this past year.
Year end Summary-Ms. Herklotz reported that the beginning of 2017-18 season had a low number of signed up participants resulting with seven cancellations that were mostly weather related. I’m happy to say that we finished the year strong.
Thanks to our Captain Becky Miles, West Coast has retained the trophy winning 22-17 at Harbor Hills CC in Lady Lake, FL. We only had 25 people play this year. Let’s try to get 50 players next year!
I’m sorry to say we lost 3 member clubs, IMG, Grasslands and Dunedin. We are now at 30 clubs including Rocky Point.
I am happy to say that there are 21 clubs represented here today at our Championship.
Our league would not exist without our hard working Officers and Club Reps and members.
The question was raised regarding the current maximum handicap for members.It was previously decided to have it remain at a 21 index.
Next year we will have the election of officers. The meeting was adjourned at 6:25 PM Respectfully submitted,
