Isla del Sol Yacht and Country Club, an 18-hole course, designed by Mark Mahannah officially opened in 1977. Nestled along a barrier island on the shimmering shores of St. Petersburg, Florida, Isla del Sol Yacht and Country Club provides panoramic views of Boca Ciega Bay and the Intracoastal Waterways.
This was the first time Isla del Sol Yacht & CC has hosted a WCWGA event. This beautiful Golf course became a WCWGA Member Club almost two years ago. WCWGA Members (and guests) supported this event with great attendance of forty two players including six guests. Members and guests also enjoyed interacting with the many species of birds and ducks on the golf course.
There was a closest to the pin contest on holes #7 and #17, Donna Nettestad was the winner on hole #7 with a winning distance of 43’4”. Jane Kienle landed her shot into hole #17 2’ from the pin. Both winners received gift certificates for two rounds of golf at Isla del Sol compliments of Director of Golf, Fred Curtis. Thank you Fred!
Thank you to everyone who contributed to making this event a successful one. A special note of appreciation to our Club Representative Cindy Raquet and member Nancy Vecchiarelli for her dedication and hard work. Their efforts ensured that the event ran smoothly with great success. Great Job.
