Mother Lassing @ Lake Jovita Results

Lake Jovita welcomed us on their exceptional and well known golf courses for our yearly event, Mother Lassing, a traditional golf tournament that has brought friends, competitors, and unforgettable stories for many years. By playing the Mother Lassing golf tournament, the WCWGA honors Mary Brady Lassing for her contribution to the game of golf in the early 1920’s.

This year’s Mother Lassing at Lake Jovita offered two exciting days of golf, showcasing the best features of both the South and North courses.

Day One kicked off at the challenging South Course, known for its rolling elevation changes and fast greens. Throughout the day, forty two players faced a cool morning with tricky pin positions and swirling winds, making good management essential. Players set the tone with steady play, navigating the signature dramatic downhill par-5 and many demanding approach shots.

On Day Two Players shifted to the North Course where open fairways and strategic bunker placement tested accuracy off the tee. Players who adjusted quickly to the different green complexes gained ground. The closing stretch–specially the finishing holes with water in play–created exciting and memorable moments.

These two day events delivered an exciting and competitive experience for all participants.

Traditionally half of the field are winners at The Mother Lassing Tournament. This year Overall Winner Brenda Bartley and Runner up Julie Treadwell were presented with beautiful wine trophies with the WCWGA logo in addition to cash prizes.  All other winners at this event got cash prizes. We also had closest to the pins for all flights. Mother Lassing is the only Net event we play all year.

A heartfelt thank you to the organizers of The Mother Lassing who worked behind the scenes to make this two day event a very  successful one. A very special thank you to WCWGA Representative Terry Moreno and her committee Brenda Bartley, Meg Powers, Kay Lippy, Jim Moreno, and golf pro David Weaver for hosting and organizing this very successful two days event. We all appreciate your hard work, planning and effort you put into making this event such a memorable one.

Congratulations to all the winners.
